Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has approved the implementation of a contributory pension scheme for workers in the state, marking a major step in the government’s efforts to strengthen retirement benefits and ensure long-term financial security for public servants.

The approval was announced by state officials, who said the scheme would provide a structured framework for retirement savings through joint contributions by employees and the government.

According to the government, the initiative is designed to guarantee sustainable pension payments and improve the welfare of workers after retirement.
