The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a criminal gang alleged to have been terrorising communities within the state. The suspects were apprehended during a coordinated operation carried out by operatives of the command as part of ongoing efforts to curb violent crime and restore public safety across affected areas.
According to the police, the arrests followed credible intelligence and sustained surveillance aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating in parts of Adamawa State. During the operation, the suspects were taken into custody without resistance and are currently undergoing interrogation to determine the extent of their involvement in criminal activities and identify possible accomplices.
The police further disclosed that efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the gang who are believed to be on the run. Security operatives have intensified patrols and intelligence-led operations in identified hotspots to prevent further incidents.
Residents of the affected communities have reportedly expressed relief over the arrest, noting that the activities of the gang had caused fear and disruption in recent times.
The Adamawa State Police Command assured the public of its commitment to sustaining the fight against crime and urged citizens to continue providing useful information to security agencies. The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
